Would you like to know how much eHarmony costs to join in 2021? Well it is more affordable than you think. With monthly membership prices starting from just £7.95.
eHarmony is one of the UK’s most loved dating sites with more than 3.5 million real members looking for love, if you can’t find your soul mate here, then you are unlikely to find them anywhere. It’s also a very reputable dating site with very few fake profiles. But this level of popularity does come at a cost, since eHarmony is a paid dating site.
But there’s definitely no need to worry because it’s not astronomically expensive, and it’s most definitely cheaper than a good night out on the town. Also your odds of meeting someone are one thousand times higher than at your local bar. In this post I provide a quick run down of the current membership prices for eHarmony in the UK this year.
So how much does eHarmony cost?

Basic Membership or Total Connect Plan?
eHarmony has two different membership plans. One is called simply the “Basic Membership Plan” and the other is called “Total Connect Membership Plan”. So what is the difference between them? Well, the “Total Connect” plan is a little more expensive, but the only things that the extra money will buy you is the option to call your matches without revealing your number, and you also get a deeper analysis of your personality.
I would definitely advise you save your money and opt for the basic plan. You can use Skype of Google Talk to make calls without revealing your number, and I really don’t believe the deeper personality analysis is essential to your success online.
I would also recommend joining for either 6 or 12 months minimum, why? Because finding that special someone does not usually happen over night unless you are very lucky. The the 6 and 12 month membership options also offer much better value when compared to the single months membership. But it is important to remember that even if you join for 12 months, unless you give it 110 per cent, it’s unlikely that Mr or Mrs right is going to come knocking. But if you make the effort to contact at least 5 members per week, I promise you that you’ll find your soul mate before your membership expires.

Short Review
eHarmony UK has been one of the top UK dating sites for over 5 years now and prides itself on offering a quality dating experience. Their membership base has steadily grown year on year and now exceeds 3.5 million in the UK alone. Members on the site are typically between the ages of 25 and 55+ and are looking for dates with the potential to become something more meaningful. This is not a one night stand dating site, and the prices do certainly help to deter those who are less serious about looking for a partner.
It’s free to join and review your matches, plus you receive a free Personality Profile which can be very revealing since it has been designed to gain an insight into your character. You’ll need to complete their questionnaire first in order to use the site, and do make sure you answer honestly, since the results of this questionnaire are then used by their matchmaking algorithm to match you with potential partners on the site. But does it work? In short yes, my matches have always been people whom I was interested in and keen to make further contact with, OK at least 7/10 were which isn’t bad.
A lot of dating sites can struggle with spam and fake profiles, thankfully eHarmony appears to have this well under control. Also with being a paid dating site really helps to keep the fake members away. That said, I’m sure a few do slip through the net now and again, so you should still be wary of any messages that sound far too good to be true.
The site itself is very intuitive, and you will also find mobile apps for the iPhone, iPad and Android.
If you really want to make the effort to put your days of being single in the past, then signup to the Free Trial today and give it 110 per cent!
Good luck X
Is it possible to avoid giving your age if you look younger? As some women may be put off.
I would usually go month by month as if you meet someone, after you’ve agreed to the multiple months to make things cheaper you’d be paying for no reason, compared to other well known sites £44.95 is actually very expensive for a month!
Why is total connect cheaper than basic–or is this just an offer????
Can you cancel your plan at anytime or do you have to keep it running for the whole 6 months etc also do you pay for it in one go? Thank you
Hi Susan. You can pay for it all in one go or split into 3 or more payments depending on the length of membership. If you join for 6 months you will not be able to cancel early, you will need to pay for the full 6 months I’m afraid. But you can certainly delete your profile on eHarmony earlier than this when you meet somebody. Good luck!
Hi April, I’ve been wanting to subscribe to eharmony for a while now and I just wanted to say thank you for telling us the prices. I couldn’t find how much it would cost me at all.
Plus I wanted to ask (just to make it simple for me) if I subscribe to the basic plan for a 12 month subscription it will definitely be £12.95? There’s no hidden cost or anything like that? Like after a couple of months you have to pay more or anything? I really want to subscribe, I just want to make sure I’ve got the prices absolutely right before I do.
Hi Pauline, sorry for the slow reply unfortunately your message got marked as spam 🙁 The prices at eHarmony tend to change a lot! But usually for the 12 month options you can select to make this in 3 payments. So if it’s currently showing £12.95 a month for you for the 12 month plan, then you would make 3 payments of £51.80. There are no hidden costs. I’d recommend adding up the costs for each of the membership options, as sometimes the Total Connect plans even work out cheaper! Good luck with eHarmony, you are definitely picking one of the best sites out there right now. X
Hi Tim, I want to thank you for your comment and letting me know the prices. It’s a lot of money, I had it in mind that you pay £12.95 each month, that would have been much easier for me to do. To be honest as you can probably tell I’m totally lost when it comes to these things, I’ve never done it before.
Hi Pauline, yes for 12 months it can add up to quite a hefty some. I’d recommend keeping an eye on the prices as they do bounce up and down quite a lot. I recently saw 12 months for just £6.95 per month. eHarmony and Match.com are the only dating sites I’d recommend in the UK, and eHarmony seems to be working much better for many of my friends right now, more so than Match.com. If you do think to join another site please run it by me first, as there are many dating sites that aren’t really dating sites at all! I hope it works out for you! 🙂
Don’t activate the incognito mode as that going to add extra 29.99 . Found it out to late.
eHarmony rocks! I’ve tried so many online dating sites that I was starting to think I’d be single for eternity. Thankfully after joining eHarmony my prayers have been answered 🙂
I’ve been on eHarmony for 9 months now. As said before it’s a commitment.
And it goes for ladies as well. Now that I have some experience I can tell immediatly who hasn’t paid yet and is just using the free trial by the way they have only one profile picture or hasn’t answered much questions (sometimes not at all)
Must you know guys that this site (and ALL dating sites) are totally skewed towards women. Minimum 2 times more men than women here. Up to 4 times more on other sites !
I’m average, 35, divorced with kid, in London (most populated area). I get like one or 2 matches a day. An average woman (I know from some of the girls I’ve had a first date with) get 10 to 15 matches !!!
So very quickly they get either extremely picky, or bored, or just overwhelmed.
So you gotta hang on. I contact every single woman I get matched with. Out of them may be 30% respond (maximum). Others just ignore me (like they don’t even go on my profile).
Then eventually 10% of my matches go through with all the communication steps: meaning we get to the point that we are emailing and exchanging numbers.
Out of them only a few of them eventually accept a first date.
So my numbers are:
9 months subscription (on and off sometimes)
18 first dates
3 ‘more than first dates’
1 ‘kinda relationship but it didn’t work out due to distance’
So overall satisfied
It took 6 months and a fair number of crazy dates, but I finally met my drop dead gorgeous fiance on eHarmony. The lucky bugger had only been on the site for 5 short weeks when he a landed a date with me that would change both of our lives for the better. Yes it’s certainly not the cheapest dating site, but the quality of the members is so much higher than the free sites and cheaper sites that I tried out. I was never overly keen on trying online dating, but a friend persuaded me to take the plunge and I’m so very glad that I did!
